Help Bees this summer!

I just came across this amazing Bee saving idea. Basically you get some wild flower seeds, apparently bees go mad for them, and sew them in yer garden and watch the bees flying around happy and making honey!
I got some as I fell in love with the idea. So lovely!
Buy some beautiful wild flower seeds today.
Important Bee Info:
- The worlds agricultural production relies on the honey bee.
- The honey bee pollinates over 80% of all edible plants in the UK… (wow need bees)
- With no bees, there would be no plants to pollinate which means no fruit or vegetables.
- This in turn would lead to world wide famine..Scary!
- So help to save the bee - we need them more than they need us.
The packet contains 5 grams of 7 specially picked wild flower seeds that are known to attract all types of Bees and other helpful insects such as Butterflies.

Self motivation & working from home

It’s tricky. Surely it’s the best thing to ever happen. Wake up and walk to your desk - in the next room. Bliss!
At first, yes. Not having to commute for over an hour every morning is a wonderful (and I almost can’t describe how wonderful!) experience and deciding your own waking hours - but on the other hand working in your living space can be tough. I work in my open plan kitchen / living room. I have two desks and have just enough room to spread out my material, paints and sewing machine etc. However, I do share my flat with my brother, so you can imagine how happy he is to find the entire front room and kitchen always covered with my stuff. It’s hard on both of us really. I can’t have a place to leave my work out and he can’t stand the site of any more Yeyah cushions scattered about the place!
Another thing and which is probably the most poignant factor when working from home is the people - or more like lack of them. I’m not a mad people person and I’m perfectly happy to spend time on my own, but you do get a sense of how long a day is working alone in your house. Another key factor in this is you are still in your house. I mean, if I wanted to, I could pretty much stay in my house and do all my bits and pieces for a week without leaving. I have only done this once and it was during the last week of my degree and I never intend on repeating it! Talk about cabin fever, I was talking to the walls! You have to make sure you leave the house once a day for some fresh air, exercise and a bit of human contact.
Working under your own steam changes you. I could never go back to working a 9 -5. I absolutely love dictating my own day and being incontrol of when and for how long something should/will take. No one’s breathing down my neck or making me stay late - I work late because I want to - because it’s for me! woo yey!
Ideally the next step will be to work from a creative shared studio with a bunch of other people. That’s expensive though, so for now it’s working from home!

This weekend I have mostly…
Well on Sunday I made this cushion…

Which was originally going to be a baby quilt.. but it sort of turned out to be a cushion for myslef.. oops!
Next I will be making some baby quilts, I think they could look so cute with the ice creams and blue and pink bears.
Today though, I have been re shooting my bunting. Who would have guessed it would be such a mare to photograph. O M G.
Today was absolutely beautiful and I got out to the park and took some snaps. Before having to take these ‘product’ shots I though I was a pretty good photographer (in the loosest sense) but now I have come to the grim realisation that I cannot take a decent photograph of anything that doesn’t have a face. Damn.
Anyway these were okay, not amazing, but will hopefully work for the website.
